Mindfulness and Stress Reduction Day-Long Retreat

  • March 4, 2016
    9:00 am - 6:00 pm

This retreat is offered in partnership with Seton Cove Spirituality Center. It is open to all – no meditation or mindfulness experience required.

Please register through Seton Cove.

The invitation of this retreat is to unplug for a day from electronics and our business and to reconnect with what matters most in our lives. Simple mindfulness practices of sitting and walking meditation will allow you to drop into present moment awareness. You will also learn to calm and connect with the body through the practices of body-awareness and mindful movement. Mindful eating is encouraged during the mealtime. We will explore our stress reactivity through learning about the biology and neuroscience of stress and will explore how to cultivate a wiser response to stress. We end the day with the gift of heart-centered practices that offer healing and care so that we can begin to build stress resilience and start to repair and restore our body-mind-heart.

There will be time for guided silence, as well as periods for questions, dialogue and interactions within the group. Practices are based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
