The practices of Mindfulness and Compassion can help us to build resilience in this extraordinarily stressful time. Understanding the neuroscience of stress helps us to meet our stress with understanding instead of judgement. This opens a path to wise response instead of the habitual reactions of fight, flight or flee. It ultimately leads to a life of greater happiness and well-being.
This introduction is based on the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program, founded in 1979 by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
